The reactive power compensation devices are manually switched in, and lack automatic switching functionality. This often leads to over-compensation or under-compensation, failing to effectively improve the power factor, stability, reduce losses, and enhance power quality. In recent years, with continuous addition of production line equipment, some distribution lines have power factors below 0.92. At present, the power factor of Busbar 1 in the 2300 continuous casting high-voltage room is only 0.74, and that of Busbar 2 is only 0.67. The total capacity of the reactive power compensation device in the 2300 high-voltage distribution room is 2400 kvar, while the designed total capacity is 3000 kvar, indicating insufficient capacity.
2. Transformation Content: Replace the original compensation device controller (pre-device) with a general-type controller (with branch protection); replace the original compensation device vacuum contactor with a general-type 630A series vacuum contactor; remake the original branch busbar and vacuum contactor connection busbar; re-expand the hole size at the original controller installation position; remake the secondary control lines; add manual control functionality.
3. Expected Effect: The power factor of each distribution room's power system will reach above 0.92. The reactive power compensation device will achieve automatic switching functionality, effectively improving power quality, enhancing grid safety and stability, and reducing losses.
